A First Harvest...Eaten Long Since...

In the late, wet, warm days of Spring, we had our first garden harvest.  I took a picture of our small bounty and had a bit of fun editing it to show what we planned to do with everything...and forgot to post it! So, a bit late, I present you with....Our First Harvest:

The pesto plan turned into a lovely Italian pasta dish instead. The salad was small but the lettuce was sweet. The smudge sticks turned out wonderfully although, next time, I'll make them with a less elastic string than cotton yarn. There was a single, small radish we picked as well that was sliced and shared among all four of us and even the non-fans loved it! All in all, it was a special day that reminded us of the rewards Mother Nature gives us for our work and patience.
